far west local health districtEvents attending Adelaide: Wednesday 27th March 2024Overview The Far West Local Health District (LHD) is a NSW Government organisation and has a vision of "Excellence in Rural and Remote Health" and its mission is "Enabling health in our communities". The Far West LHD consists of eight public health facilities: Broken Hill Health Service, Balranald Multipurpose Service, Wilcannia Multipurpose Service, Wentworth Health Service, Menindee Health Service, Ivanhoe Health Service, Tibooburra Health Service and White Cliffs Health Service. The Far West LHD also includes the Family and Child Health Centre in Broken Hill and Buronga Health One in Buronga, together with a number of other facilities including mental health and aged care facilities. The Far West LHD is one of the smallest LHD's in NSW. It serves a dispersed population of approximately 30,000 people and covers one of the largest geographical areas (194,949 square kilometres). It has a population with the highest proportion of Aboriginal people in the State.
